Annual precipitation throughout the state averages between about 40 and 60 inches (1,000 and 1,500 mm); somewhat wetter in the south and drier in the northern part of the state.[39] Snowfall is infrequent but most common in the northern half of the state.[23] The half of the state south of Little Rock is more apt to see ice storms.
